Transport zone maps

Two maps cover school transport in the SONG district — one we maintain ourselves, and the official zone map from the Ministry of Education.

EasyBus map

We maintain a Google map covering the SONG district with bus routes, stops, and school locations. Use the tick boxes on the left of the map to turn layers on and off.

Ministry of Education map

The Ministry of Education provides an interactive map showing transport zones for every school in New Zealand. These zones are the main factor in deciding whether a student is eligible for school transport. Enter your address to see which schools you are zoned for.

How transport zones work

To be eligible for free school transport, you must firstly live a certain distance away from the nearest school that your child can attend.

If you are eligible, you can use your entitlement to attend a more distant school, but you must make your own way to the halfway point between schools.

The eligibility distances are:

3.2km
Year 1–6
4.8km
Year 7–13
Not sure if your child is eligible? Get in touch with EasyBus and we'll help you work it out.
